Travel Photos – North America: Canada

Locations visited during a trip in April, 2006 include Ucluelet, Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

For school spring break one year, we drove from our home in Longmont, CO all the way to Ucluelet. We took the scenic route through Utah, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington with many stops along the way. To reach Vancouver Island, we took the ferry from Edmonds to Kingston, WA, then drove in the lee of the Olympic mountains to Port Angeles where we picked up the ferry to Victoria. Once there, we made the trek north past Nanaimo to Parksville, then westward to the Pacific coast.

Vancouver Island

We explored the Pacific Rim National Park, went kayaking, and played in tidal pools. We hiked in a rain forest and spent half a day in Tofino on the northern end of the pennisula.

Return trip

After our trip to Ucluelet, we took the ferry towards home from Nanaimo to Duke Point. Then we drove home via Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Wyoming.
