Landscape photos - Mountains

From the Appalachians to the great Rocky Mountains and majestic Alps, mountain ranges provide unprecedented beauty and grandeur of the natural world. Thus far, I have traveled into the following mountain ranges:

Rocky Mountains

The spine of the Rockies passes through parts of Mexico, the United States, and Canada and includes some of North America's highest peaks. Currently living in Colorado, I venture into the Rockies more than any other mountains including a few climbs of Fourteeners - the tallest peaks in Colorado over 14,000 feet above sea level.

The Cascade Range

The Cascade mountains of northern California, Oregon, and Washington neighbor the Rockies and include some impressive active and dormant volcanos. Among active volcanos, Mt. Saint Helens last erupted in May 1985. Thus far, I have spent time playing around the Three Sisters, west of Bend, Oregon and a brief visit to Mount Rainier in Washington.

The Alps

The European Alps pass through parts of France, Switzerland, Italy, and Austria. On vacation in 1996, I briefly visited the Alps near Zermatt, Switzerland, and took the gondola to the top of Klein Matterhorn, which affords an amazing view of the famous Matterhorn.

Future

In the future, I would love to travel to more mountain ranges, especially:

• Himalayas
• Andes
• Sierra-Nevada
